About me

I’m a writer, editor and content specialist with a wide range of experience across the media, arts and charity sectors. With a background in journalism and digital media, I bring a wealth of editorial knowledge and storytelling nous to any project, having worked across a multitude of formats and with an array of individual and institutional production partners and talent during my career.

During my six years at the BBC, I managed the redesign of the main press office website, developing and implementing a new content strategy to drive traffic, social sharing, and increased media coverage. The site won the ‘Best Online Newsroom’ category at the 2012 European Digital Communication Awards. I was also responsible for the commissioning, production, and publication of online press/PR content to promote BBC programming, covering everything from Doctor Who to the London Olympics. My team produced hundreds of short-form videos, which were used across BBC verticals from BBC News to BBC Arts, reaching an audience of millions.

As Head of Content at Art Fund, I led on editorial strategy, developing numerous new content strands to support the charity’s communications, marketing and fundraising operations, from high-production video formats to short-form social content, to the popular and critically acclaimed podcast, Meet Me at the Museum, which won a British Podcast Silver Award in 2020. I was digital content lead for Art Fund Museum of the Year from 2017-2023, working with a range of production and broadcast partners, including Google, Bloomberg and the BBC. I also led on digital content for the £3.2m campaign to save Derek Jarman’s Prospect Cottage in 2019/20, as well as a range of other successful public fundraising initiatives.

As a copywriter, I work with a range of corporate clients (WPP, Ernst & Young) and content consultancies (Group SJR, Flint Culture), producing everything from e-newsletters to feature articles to thought-leadership pieces, especially in the fields of business development, sustainability and technology.

I’m a graduate of the universities of East Anglia and Sussex, with a Master’s degree in English Literature (distinction). Most recently, I completed the Oxford University Artificial Intelligence Programme, a six-week intensive course on the fundamentals of AI led by the Saïd Business School.

I’m currently a Trustee at The Poetry Archive, a UK-based national literary charity, where I advises on marketing, communications, digital content, and audience development.
